Toyota To Roll Out Rear-Seat Airbag

Toyota Motor Corporation has developed a rear-seat airbag that deploys between passengers and will install it on a model to be launched in Japan.

The airbag inflates from a fixed, rear-seat center console during side collisions. The feature is designed to stop rear-seat passengers from knocking against each other or the console. Toyota did not name the vehicle, but the redesigned Crown Majesta luxury sedan is scheduled to debut March 27.
