Boy crept out of house, found in pool

While his family slept Thursday, an 18-month-old Ruskin boy crawled through the doggie door of his home and into a backyard swimming pool, Hillsborough County sheriff's officials said.

The boy at 2621 Universal Drive, was flown to Tampa General Hospital where he was in critical condition, officials said. He awoke before his family, crept through a doggie door and up several steps into an above-ground swimming pool, officials said.

His parents realized he was missing and found him in the pool just before 8:30 a.m. Family and neighbors performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
